PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FIREWOOD NETS THAT WE CURRENTLY HAVE IN STOCK MAY BE A DIFFERENT SHAPE OF NET AND THEY MAY CONTAIN LOGS WITH SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS FROM OUR STANDARD NETS.
Our hardwood logs are usually mixed species which may include beech, ash, oak, cherry, sycamore and birch. Hardwood logs are seen to be the best quality log as they burn for longer and therefore give off more heat compared to a softwood log due to their density.
Edinburgh Wood Fuel supplies high quality, barn stored, well seasoned and dry firewood. Our firewood has a moisture content below 20%. These logs are ideal for wood burning stoves, open fires, chimneas and the like.
The timber used to create our logs is felled and left to season for between 6-12 months, or kiln dried. Once cut, split and netted it is stored in barns to allow air to circulate. The result of this systematic approach provides a top quality product which is ready to burn. Our logs are approximately 20cm-25cm (8-10 inches) in length and are supplied in net bags. The nets are tightly packed containing on average between 8-12 logs per handy net.
